How do I purchase a membership?

You may purchase a membership:

  • online
  • Onsite at the Membership Services Desk in the Oakland Building lobby
  • Over the phone by calling 314.289.4414
  • By mailing a check to:

What are your membership policies?
  • Up to two adults living in the same household may be listed on the membership card.
  • Memberships are nontransferable and cannot be shared between households.
  • Membership benefits are active for one year from month of purchase and cannot be extended.
  • Memberships can be revoked without refund due to improper usage.
  • When visiting, at least one member named on the membership card must be present. Children with adult chaperones should present their parents’ Saint Louis Science Center membership card at the Membership Services Desk in the Oakland Building lobby.
How long does my membership last?

Memberships and all corresponding benefits are valid for 12 months and expire at the end of the month they were purchased. For example, a membership purchased December 15, 2022 would expire December 31, 2023.

How soon can I visit the museum after I purchase my membership?

Membership Services Desk Purchases in the Oakland Building Lobby: Cards are given at time of purchase and benefits can be used immediately.

Online Purchases: Benefits can be accessed immediately by showing email confirmation at the Membership Services Desk in the Oakland Building lobby.

Phone & Mail Purchases: Please allow 10 business days for mailing your membership card.

Members are also invited to keep connected through regular update emails and monthly email newsletters and to enjoy the exciting digital content available through Facebook, X and Instagram.

Can OMNIMAX® Theater tickets be extended past membership expiration?

Free OMNIMAX Theater tickets expire when membership term expires and cannot be transferred or extended.

 

Will free OMNIMAX® Theater tickets be mailed with my membership card?

All ticket benefits are tracked electronically through the membership cards. Present your membership card to redeem your benefits.

Can members reserve OMNIMAX® Theater tickets in advance?

All members receive FREE phone reservations for advanced tickets. Call 314.289.4424. Hold times may vary based on call volume.

How do I use my free parking membership benefit?

All members should scan their member card when they enter the parking lot; members do not need to get a parking ticket.

When leaving, members should scan their cards again to leave the parking lot.

Members who have not yet received their membership cards should bring their parking tickets to the Membership Services Desk in the Oakland Building Lobby for validation and will not need to pay.

Are membership discounts available?

Seniors, teachers and military personnel can present their valid IDs at the Membership Services Desk in the Oakland Building lobby for one applicable discount on the following membership levels:

  • $35 OFF Family & Friends MAX
  • $20 OFF Family & Friends PLUS
  • $10 OFF Family & Friends

Discounts are not available online, by phone or by mail. Discounts cannot be combined with sale promotions.

Can I visit the Saint Louis Science Center without my membership card?

If you are visiting and you do not have a card, present a valid photo ID to the Membership Services Desk in the Oakland Building lobby to access membership benefits. If you have lost your card, please call Membership Services at 314.289.4414, or email memberships@slsc.org, to have a replacement card mailed.

How can I use my Saint Louis Science Center membership card to visit an Association of Science-Technology Center's (ASTC) reciprocal museum?

The ASTC Travel Passport Program entitles Saint Louis Science Center Members to free or discounted admission at more than 300 Association of Science-Technology Center (ASTC) museums.

Members must present their Saint Louis Science Center membership card and photo ID at participating museums to receive reciprocal admission.

Members are encouraged to call participating museums to verify reciprocal ASTC benefits.

I want to visit one of the Association of Science-Technology Center's (ASTC) reciprocal museums, but I haven't received my Saint Louis Science Center membership card yet. What should I do?

If you plan to visit an ASTC reciprocal science museum before receiving your Saint Louis Science Center membership card, please call the Membership Services Team at 314.289.4414 or email memberships@slsc.org to request a temporary proof of membership email.

Is my membership tax deductible?

Tax deductibility varies and is determined based on donation amount minus the value of goods and services; value of goods and services for Galileo is $114 and for Newton & Einstein is $113. For questions or additional assistance, please consult your tax professional.

How do I obtain a corporate match for my membership contribution?

Your membership contribution may be increased if your employer offers a Matching Gift Program. This matching donation increases your support of the Saint Louis Science Center.

Contact your Human Resources department for information about your company’s Matching Gift program and procedures.

Please note that matching gifts cannot be applied toward the cost of a Supporting Membership.

Can the child of a Saint Louis Science Center Member use the membership without a parent present?

All children visiting the Saint Louis Science Center should always be accompanied by adult chaperones. Children with adult chaperones other than their parents who would like to use their parents’ member benefits can present their parents’ Saint Louis Science Center membership card at the Membership Services Desk in the Oakland Building lobby.

Do you offer a digital version of the NewScience member magazine?

The Saint Louis Science Center is a committed steward of the environment. We are proud to offer an interactive version of NewScience as well as a downloadable PDF.

Does the Science Center make charitable donations to community fundraising events?

The Saint Louis Science Center is proud to support donation requests for charitable fundraisers. If you would like the Science Center to consider your event or cause for a donation, please complete our Donation Request Form. Our charitable donations are limited due to the high volume of requests.
